Fiddlesticks Country Club Golf Course Goes High Tech
Synthetic Turf International Installs E Z Tee Driving Range Product
Synthetic Grass Alternative Uses Regulation Golf Tee
July 14, 2005, Jupiter, FL—Synthetic Turf International (STI), a global synthetic turf supplier and installer of premium synthetic putting greens and related synthetic surfaces, recently completed a driving range renovation project at Fiddlesticks Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida. The project was facilitated in conjunction with North Carolina-based course construction contractor Landscapes Unlimited, LLC.
The project consisted of installing and enhancing the 1,800 square foot driving range tee line with STI’s innovative E Z Tee system, a naturalistic synthetic turf designed specifically for driving range tee lines. In addition to being able to hit “off the deck” down and through the ball, golfers can also hit off a regulation golf tee, placed in the E Z Tee surface. This is a stark departure from the white plastic tube that serves as a tee in other synthetic tee line surfaces. In addition to the realistic playability of E Z Tee, Fiddlesticks’ member/owners benefit from the cost-effectiveness of the product. Sand and rubber infill utilized in E Z Tee permits continuous use, eliminating the need to relocate and reseed driving range areas.
Commenting on the project, STI President William Campbell states, “It’s gratifying to provide Fiddlesticks a synthetic alternative that works. The Club is one of Florida’s finest. Golfers there expect an extraordinary experience and E Z Tee plays a small but important role in that experience.”
He continued, “In reality there’s no comparison between hitting off a golf tee and hitting off a plastic tube.”
Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Jupiter, Florida, STI is the industry leader, supplying synthetic putting greens and related synthetic surfaces to country clubs, public and private golf clubs, teaching facilities and short game academies.
