National Indoor Football League Chooses Synthetic Turf International
Synthetic Turf Selected as Proven, Durable, Realistic Alternative to Natural Grass

Southern Division Teams Gain Footing on New Fields

September 30, 2005, Jupiter, FL—Synthetic Turf International (STI), industry-leading supplier of premium putting greens and related synthetic surfaces, was selected to provide arena turf systems for three National Indoor Football League (NIFL) teams.  STI’s arena turf Action 250 was the product of choice this season for Florida’s NIFL Southern Division teams, the Lakeland Thunderbolts, Daytona Beach Hawgs and Kissimmee Kreatures.

Designed for use in multi-purpose venues, and ideal for NIFL specifications, the Action 250 convertibleturfsystem is supplied on rolls and has Velcro seams allowing quick and easy installation and removal.  The ease of installation allows facilities to host a wide range of events with limited downtime, thereby maximizing facility use and profitability.  The turf’s foam backing adds dimensional stability and cushioning for enhanced performance and safety.  Action 250’s non-directional surface maximizes player speed and athleticism.

Commenting on the projects, STI President William Campbell states, “The Action 250 is excellent for the NIFL league, its athletes and coaches because it is a more natural surface.  Not only is our Action 250 turf similar in aesthetic appearance to a natural grass field, but it plays like natural grass too.  The difference is in its durability.”

Formed in 2000 with 18 teams on its roster, many of which were from the now-defunct Indoor Professional Football League and Indoor Football League, the NIFL was created to provide an alternative and inexpensive form of sports entertainment. It is anticipated that 22 teams will take part in the NIFL’s sixth season which begins in March of 2006.

Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Jupiter, Florida, STI is the industry leader, supplying synthetic putting greens and related synthetic surfaces to country clubs, public and private golf  clubs, teaching facilities and short game academies. The company holds longstanding endorsement relationships with David Leadbetter and Jim McLean, two of the golf industry’s best known and most sought after instructors. STI also supplies synthetic surfaces for other sports, such as football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, lawn bowling, bocce and other sports utilizing play fields.

In addition to golf and sporting applications, STI is widely recognized as a principal supplier of synthetic surfaces for high-end residences, parks, playgrounds, school play yards, cruise ships, hotels and other hospitality settings.
