Champion Hills Country Club Updates Driving Range
Synthetic Turf International Installs Innovative EZ Tee System
Synthetic Tee Line Product Provides Realistic Alternative to Natural Grass
November 28, 2006, Jupiter, FL—Synthetic Turf International (STI), a global synthetic turf supplier and installer of premium synthetic putting greens and related synthetic surfaces, recently completed a driving range renovation project at Champion Hills Country Club in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The project was facilitated in conjunction with STI distributor Heritage Putting Greens based in Pendleton, South Carolina.
The project consisted of removing the existing sand-filled nylon tee line which had become compacted, making it uncomfortable for members to practice on. The driving range was redesigned, more than doubling in length. A new tee line was created with STI’s innovative EZ Tee system, a naturalistic synthetic turf designed specifically for driving range tee lines. EZ Tee’s innovative composite affords the golfer the option of either hitting off a regulation golf tee or hitting directly off the synthetic surface.
Commenting on the project, STI President William Campbell states, “It’s gratifying to provide Champion Hills a synthetic alternative that works. The course is rated one of North Carolina’s top 10 courses. As Tom Fazio’s home course, members expect an extraordinary experience. EZ Tee isa small but integral part of that experience. Club members wanted a more realistic tee line and EZ Tee fits the bill.”
