Synthetic Turf International Creates Signature Putting Course Georgia Golf Hall of Fame Replicates America’s Signature Golf Holes

Augusta, Georgia

March 12, 2007, Jupiter, FL—Synthetic Turf International (STI), a global synthetic turf supplier and installer of premium synthetic putting greens and related synthetic surfaces, recently completed installation of a miniature synthetic putting course at the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame in Augusta, Georgia.

The 9,000 square foot putting course replicates 18 of golf’s foremost signature holes.  Famous holes from courses such as Augusta Country Club, Atlanta Athletic Club, The Farm, Reynolds Plantation, Sea Island and TPC Sugarloaf were recreated from tee to green utilizing STI’s premium NP50 nylon putting surface and Zoysia SoftLawnTN.  As with traditional golf at these renowned courses, Hall of Fame visitors will want to avoid the water and stay out of the sand on these challenging holes.  In a bid to accurately recreate the courses’ hole layouts, STI’s innovative design team utilized blue and white Zoysia SoftLawn to construct bunkers and water hazards as they occur on the actual courses.  Commenting on the project Georgia Golf Hall of Fame Chairman John Reynolds states, “What a marvelous job of course design and installation for The Putting Experience.  The finished ‘product’ is beautiful and, actually, exceeds all expectations.  The ‘through the green areas’, ‘bunkers’ and ‘water’ all provide a fine illusion of reality.”

All of STI’s synthetic surfaces provide virtually maintenance-free durability with a natural look and feel.  STI’s tour-quality synthetic putting green enables consistent putts with a true roll from every position on the green while STI’s Zoysia SoftLawn turf offers a soft, natural feel, yet is tough enough to withstand the heaviest of foot traffic

Since opening in 2001, the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame and Botanical Gardens has provided educational tours for over 15,000 students and adults, and has been a premier tourism destination for over 160,000 annual visitors.
