Synthetic Turf International Facilitates Education Facilities Project
Good Shepherd Episcopal School Revamps Recreation Area
Tequesta, Florida
August 3, 2005, Jupiter, FL——Synthetic Turf International (STI), a global synthetic turf supplier and installer of premium synthetic putting greens and related synthetic surfaces, today announced recent completion and installation of a multi-purpose play area at Good Shepherd Episcopal School. Located at 402 Seabrook Drive in Tequesta, Florida, Good Shepherd Episcopal School has an enrollment of approximately 130 children in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth. Completed in early July, the multi-purpose area serves a variety of functions for the school’s physical education cirriculum, extra-cirricular activities and summer and after-school care programs.
Commenting on the project Synthetic Turf International President William Campbell states, “We’ve seen a real surge in the use of synthetic turf for play areas in educational settings. There’s absolutley no safer play surface and the economic benefits are vast. Durability and low-maintenance make synthetic turf a viable choice for private and public schools.” STI donated a portion of the synthetic turf used in the 6,700 square foot project.
The project was completed utilizing STI’s distinctive SoftLawn synthetic turf solution. SoftLawn is a naturalistic, lifelike synthetic turf used in play area and playground applications. Materials used in SoftLawn are environmentally responsible in application and disposability. Virtually maintenance free, it requires no chemical treatment, making the human contact and ground water contamination concerns inherent with real grass a non-issue.
Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Jupiter, Florida, STI is the industry leader, supplying synthetic putting greens and related synthetic surfaces to country clubs, public and private golf clubs, teaching facilities and short game academies. Serving as testament to the company’s quality synthetic surface are its longstanding endorsement relationships with David Leadbetter and Jim McLean, two of the golf industry’s best known and most sought after instructors. STI also supplies synthetic surfaces for other sports, such as football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, lawn bowling, bocce and other sports utilizing play fields.
In addition to golf and sporting applications, STI is widely recognized as a principal supplier of synthetic surfaces for high-end residences, parks, playgrounds, school play yards, cruise ships, hotels and other hospitality settings. STI synthetic surfaces can be custom configured to replace grass, gravel or other surfaces in virtually every imaginable situation and location.
