Synthetic Turf International Completes Educational Recreation Project United Way Center of Excellence Adds Two Multi-Purpose Play Areas

Miami, Florida

January 17, 2007, Jupiter, FL— Synthetic Turf International (“STI”), an industry-leading supplier of premium putting greens and related synthetic surfaces, today announced the recent installation and completion of a multi-purpose recreation area at the United Way Center of Excellence in Early Education in Miami, Florida.  The accredited Center is a new, world-class, state-of-the-art facility dedicated to raising the quality of early care and education for children in the Miami area.  The Center will provide education, care and training for 140 children and their families.

The multi-purpose recreation areas serve a variety of activities and functions for the Center’s care and education programs.  Totaling 1,300 square feet the recreation area was completed utilizing STI’s distinctive SoftLawn® Rye synthetic turf solution. SoftLawn® is a natural-looking, lifelike synthetic turf used in lawn and playground applications.  Virtually maintenance free, the turf requires no chemical treatment, making the human contact and ground water contamination concerns associated with real grass a non-issue.

Commenting on the project, Synthetic Turf International President William Campbell states, “A field is an investment.  It’s up to us to make that investment work for the customer.”  He continues, “In this case it’s the children enrolled at the Center.  A synthetic play surface can withstand significantly higher levels of use than natural turf, without the need for periodic closure for regeneration.  This means the field is accessible each and every day the Center is open.  Additionally, synthetic turf requires no chemical treatment.  This eliminates the children’s potential exposure to harmful chemicals.”
